Haitian Art Exhibition Opens in Pittsburgh with Interpretations by Fonkoze Executive Director Erlantz Hyppolite

We are excited to share an update that a new Haitian art exhibit is on display in Pittsburgh from September 17, 2024 through June 28, 2025. The exhibit, which showcases the rich and vibrant culture of Haiti through stunning works of art, has been receiving wonderful feedback from visitors. Each piece is not only a visual feast but also tells a story that delves deep into Haiti’s history, struggles, and beauty.

Our Executive Director, Erlantz Hyppolite, has personally written the interpretations for the collection. His deep connection to Haiti and extensive experience working with communities through Fonkoze bring a unique perspective to the artwork, offering visitors a deeper understanding of the artists’ intentions and the social context of their creations.

For those who haven’t yet had a chance to experience the exhibit, we encourage you to visit and explore the artistic legacy of Haiti. The exhibit is a part of a broader movement to uplift Haitian voices and share the powerful stories of resilience and hope that inspire us every day in our work.

If you’re interested in learning more about the artists and their work, check out our partner’s website here, where you can dive deeper into the incredible journey of Haitian art. We look forward to continuing this cultural celebration and hope you can join us in supporting Haitian creativity and expression.

Dr. Erlantz Hyppolite, Executive Director of Fonkoze, and his wife Starry Sprenkle-Hyppolite and their family and Fonkoze staff attended the LACC gala opening of the exhibit.
