Erlantz Hyppolite Speaks at Future Forward’s “Haiti in Focus” Session

On February 11, 2026, Erlantz Hyppolite, Executive Director of Fonkoze USA, participated in Future Forward: A Caribbean Philanthropy Forum as a speaker in the session “Spotlight – Haiti in Focus.”
The session celebrated some of the most innovative examples of Caribbean-led philanthropy, with a particular emphasis on lessons emerging from Haiti. Rather than framing Haiti through the lens of challenges, the discussion highlighted the country’s resolution, creativity, and community leadership—and how these strengths offer models that can be replicated across the region.
Moderated by representatives of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the panel brought together leaders working across sectors including community-driven food systems, education, social enterprise, and economic justice. Speakers shared how locally rooted initiatives are transforming communities and creating pathways to long-term economic opportunity.
During the session, Erlantz emphasized the importance of community-centered development and locally led solutions in building economic resilience for families. As part of Fonkoze’s broader mission, these approaches support women entrepreneurs, strengthen local economies, and advance financial inclusion.
The conversation also featured leaders including Joanne Alexis Bounouni of the Haiti Food Systems Alliance and Reginald Cean of the Haiti Development Institute, highlighting collaborative strategies and opportunities for regional partnerships.
Events like Future Forward demonstrate how Caribbean organizations and communities are leading innovative approaches to philanthropy and development, grounded in dignity, solidarity, and shared prosperity.
