Fonkoze Raises $150K with Matching Gift on Giving Tuesday

Fonkoze Surpasses Giving Tuesday Goal, Raising $150,312

Washington, D.C. – On Giving Tuesday, Fonkoze’s supporters rallied together to raise an extraordinary $77,312, which was then matched at $75,000 by a small group of generous donors, bringing the total to $150,312. With more than 134 gifts and an outpouring of solidarity from across the United States, this year’s campaign kicks off a season of giving for Fonkoze’s work in rural Haiti. Donations fund essential health, education, and community programs that serve Haiti’s most vulnerable families. For 30 years, Fonkoze has been providing essential tools to women in rural Haiti and we mark this 30 anniversary with renewed energy for the women and families we serve in Haiti.

A Celebration of 30 years of Commitment to Haiti’s Rural Women

This Giving Tuesday wasn’t just a day of generosity—it was a celebration of Haiti’s vibrant culture and strength. Influential Haitian artists, including Tafa Mi-Soleil, Paul Beaubrun, BeLo, Boukman Eksperyans, Ayiiti, Michaël Brun, members of  Lakou Mizik, and Chef Alain Lemaire, board members, supporters, and more voices for Haiti amplified Fonkoze’s message and continue to share their support as Fonkoze marks 30 years of impact in rural Haiti. Their heartfelt endorsements and powerful calls to action inspired a global audience to support Haiti’s future. These artists highlight vibrant culture while championing Fonkoze’s mission of walking alongside communities to create lasting change.

Michaël Brun, a music sensation and proud Haitian, shared, “As a Haitian, I’m really proud to say that Fonkoze is a Haitian-led organization. I think it’s incredibly important that the future of the country is in the Haitian people’s hands.”  And we couldn’t agree more.

The Impact

The funds raised support Fonkoze’s programs, ensuring Haitian families have the tools to overcome barriers and build stronger futures. Specifically, these funds will:

  • Expand health initiatives that provide life-saving care to underserved communities.
  • Strengthen education and financial literacy programs that equip individuals with the skills needed to manage their finances, sustain businesses, and create lasting change.
  • Bolster community development programs that give women entrepreneurs the tools they need to improve their lives, uplifting their families and communities in the process.

Global Solidarity for Haiti

This year’s Giving Tuesday campaign exceeded expectations and highlighted the strength of Fonkoze’s community of supporters. The participation of Haitian influencers, artists, and supporters demonstrated the collective power of solidarity.

“Giving Tuesday  and our We Are Fonkoze campaign shows us that when we come together, we can create incredible impact,” said Erlantz Hyppolite, Executive Director of Fonkoze USA. “The voices of these incredible Haitian artists and the generosity of our donors have proven that, even in challenging times, Haiti’s future remains full of promise.”
